Curious about learning to sew on a machine? Overwhelmed with where to start? Try a 1:1 lesson with Jess. 1:1 lessons can help beginner sewers get familiar with your machine and more advanced sewers tackle the sewing projects you've been dreaming of. No prior sewing experience required. (Owning a machine is optional. You can bring yours or use one of ours!)
Jess Webster is a Burlington based sewist that owns Paper Crane Theory, a slow fashion brand that is passionate about upcycling and using vintage textiles. Jess enjoys all things in the fiber and textile world and has been sewing since she was a teen.

Creative Play Saturday

Creative Play Saturday is a hands-on arts and crafts experience designed for kids ages 18 months-5 years. Caregivers join their child at many different crafting stations where kids can explore with all their senses and develop their fine motor skills. Each month, we’ll set up an assortment of ever changing craft opportunities so kids can explore colors, shapes, textures, and so much more at their own pace. Previous crafts have included: Collage, stamps, painting, coloring, beading, play-doh, slime, and more!


Make a magical trinket shelf - 6 week workshop - ages 6-10

Thursdays September 10, 17, 24, and October 1, 8, and 15. 3:30-4:30In this 6 week workshop, students will design and build their own magical trinket shelf. Each week, we will introduce a new artistic technique, including paper mache, paint, collage, and more, to take their project from idea to finished product.


Teens Yarn Club

4 week session. October 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th.
Teen Knitters and Crocheters join us for a weekly club to hone your knitting or crochet skills and make new friends. Bring the project you are working on or we can help you start a new one. Supplies and patterns included with registration. This class is suitable for beginner or intermediate level knitters and crocheters.

Visible mending: Thread Zeppelin

Friday August 21 6-8pmIThis beginner class will introduce you to basic visible mending techniques to use on jeans, pants, button downs, skirts, and bags. Visible mending is great for holes, stains, logos, and boring/tired garments. This class will focus on strengthening the worn area, and introduce you to basic mending techniques. There will be individual time to work through your mending questions. Needle, sashiko thread, and scrap fabric provided. Please bring an item to mend - a pair of old jeans works best. Please note, this is not a darning class, so skip the knits (no socks or sweaters).Ande Tagliamonte is a textile artist and owner of Hand & Bobbin. Her work primarily focuses on using visible mending techniques to extend the life of well loved clothes, accessories, and household linens. Woven Mending

Tuesday September 8th 6-8pmJoin us for an introduction to woven mending. This fun and colorful technique of visible mending can be used on any kinds of fabric, but is especially great for lighter weight knits and socks.Bring an item in need of mending and we'll supply you with yarn, embroidery thread, and all the tools and instruction you need to get those items fixed and back into your wardrobe!*Though this technique can be used on holes of any size, for the purpose of learning the basics, please bring an item with a whole that is quarter sized or smaller. for the wellbeing of all the wool items in our store, If you are bringing an item that is moth damaged, it must be free of any larvae or residue and have been put into the freezer for at least 72 hours prior to the class. Thanks!


Intro to crochet

Monday September 14th 6-8pmJoin us for an introduction to crochet. This class is perfect for folks who've never tried crocheting before, as well as those who are looking for a refresher. During this class, you will learn to chain stitch and single crochet as well as double crochet and some basic troubleshooting as time allows. Materials are included! All students will receive a crochet hook and choice of yarn from our basic yarn wall, though you are also welcome to bring your own supplies if you have something you'd like to use.


Intro to Hand Embroidery

Wednesday September 16th 6-8pmJoin us for an introduction to hand embroidery with Danielle Buchanan. This class is great for beginners or folks who want to get back into hand embroidery. We'll learn the most commonly used hand embroidery stitches like french knots, whipped back stitch, and lazy daisies, and you'll leave class with a fun embroidered design of your own! Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric items to embroider if you'd like.


Make a quilted tote bag

Thursdsday September 17th and 24th 5-8pmCome spend two classes pieces together this quilted tote bag. Skills reviewed will be fabric pieces, basics of quilting , and bag construction.All supplies provided. Must be familiar with basics of operating a sewing machine


Absolute Basics of hand sewing

Tuesday September 22nd 6-8pmNo experience necessary and no stupid questions! This is a class for folks who've never sewn before at all. We'll talk you through threading a needle, tying knots, sewing a few basic stitches and sewing on a button. All materials included.


Macrame plant hangers

Tuesday September 29th 6-8pmWith a few basic stitches, you can make your very own beautiful boho macrame plant hanger! Join us for this totally beginner friendly workshop. Choose from an assortment of colors and styles of macrame cord and wooden beads to make your own personalized plant hanger.Please bring your own pot (we'll also have a few on hand if you don't have one).Maximum 15 studentsAll Materials Included

All craft parties include:
-1-2 hours of a custom craft project tailored to your event and led by one of our instructors. - all supplies included!

How to make a donation and get store credit:

  1. Make an appointment at the link above and bring your donation in anytime on your scheduled day.

  2. We will email you your store credit amount and if you've chosen the option on your form, we will let you know if we have any items to be returned to you.

  3. Your store credit goes into your customer account and you can use it anytime on merchandise or classes! To use your store credit to register for a class, you can email us, or register in person at the store.

Donation Guidelines

All donated items must be free of smells and signs of moths or other pests.

We do NOT accept:

  • Home textile items such as bedding, curtains, tablecloths, etc.

  • Household decorations

  • Clothing - including clothing that has been cut up to be upcycled

  • Corks, pill bottles, mint tins, egg cartons, and other recyclables

  • Jewelry (intact or broken, though we will happily accept beads or pendants that have been removed from jewelry)

  • Partially finished craft projects (including partially painted canvasses)

  • Binders and Folders

We DO accept supplies for a wide array of crafts, including but not limited to:
