LEARN to knit
Tuesday May 6 5:30-7:30pmJoin us at The Makery for an introduction to knitting. This class is perfect for folks who've never tried knitting before, as well as those who are looking for a refresher. During this class, you will learn to cast on and knit as well as some basic troubleshooting. Materials are included! All students will recieve a pair of straight knitting needles and their choice of yarn from our basic yarn wall, though you are also welcome to bring your own yarn if you have something you'd like to use.This class is geared towards adults, but children 10 and up are welcome to attend with an adult who is also registered. Maximum of 10 students.
SOLD OUT - Darn It! A Mending and Repair Worshop
Wednesday April 23 5:30-7:30pmDo you have pair of jeans with a hole, a damaged sweater, or worn out socks? Join us for visible mending workshop, where you’ll get mending advice on a variety of techniques from sashiko to swiss darning. Learn valuable skills to continue mending to add style and longevity to your wardrobe!
All supplies will be included, just bring yourself and a garment (or two) in need of repair! No experience necessary, but smaller holes (no bigger than the size of a quarter) are easier to mend if you are just starting out.
If you have any questions about whether your garment will be suitable for this workshop, feel free to email us a photo ahead of time. Also, please note, if you intend to fix a sweater with moth holes, please be sure that the sweater has been washed ahead of time and placed in the freezer for at least 72 hours prior to bringing it to class. Thanks!

Wednesday April 30-June 4 3:30-5:30 Ages 9-12 $250/6 week sessionOver this 6 week session, young artists will dive into the world of art using secondhand and recycled materials! Through hands-on projects, they’ll learn to repurpose materials, tapping into their creativity while gaining an understanding of sustainability. Each week, children will explore different techniques and mediums develop their art skills and inspire their creativity.

A week designed to celebrate creativity in all its forms, providing a supportive and sensory-friendly space for neurodivergent students to explore art at their own pace. From colorful costume-making to constructing whimsical paintings, campers will engage in hands-on projects that encourage self-expression. The week will end with a joyful art show, where campers can showcase their vibrant creations in a mini parade, sharing their unique artistic voices with friends and family.🌳 Green Makers (Ages 5-8)

Eco-Friendly Art Adventures! Young artists will transform recycled materials, natural dyes, and upcycled treasures into one-of-a-kind masterpieces in this environmentally conscious art camp. Whether crafting sun prints, creating nature-inspired sculptures, or making their own paper, campers will learn to see the beauty in sustainability. At the end of the week, they will display their eco-art in a special gallery show, followed by a charming art show tea party to celebrate their creativity and care for the planet.💪 Rebel Makers (Ages 12-18)

Art Inspired by Bold Women! This empowering week is all about fearless creativity! Campers will learn about female artists who changed the art world and use that inspiration to craft their own bold works, from expressive portraits to powerful mixed-media pieces. Using vibrant colors, dynamic textures, and personal storytelling, students will create art that reflects their own voices. The week will culminate in an exhibition where they can proudly share their creations, followed by an inspiring art show to honor their rebellious spirit!🧶 Fiber Art Makers (Ages 8-12)
July 21-25
Weaving, Stitching, and Textile Magic! Campers will dive into the world of fiber arts, learning skills like weaving, embroidery, felting, and fabric dyeing. From crafting intricate wall hangings to designing wearable art, they will experiment with textures and techniques that bring softness and structure together. The week will end with a gallery-style showcase where each camper’s textile masterpieces will be displayed, followed by a cozy art show to celebrate their fiber-filled journey.🎨 Painting Makers (Ages 8-12)
July 28-August 1
This camp is all about paint! Campers will experiment with watercolor, acrylic, and color learning techniques like layering, blending, and expressive brushwork. They will create large-scale collaborative pieces, personal masterpieces, and even try their hands at mural painting. The week will end with an inspiring art show, where their vivid paintings will take center stage, followed by a lively art show to toast their artistic achievements.🦁 Untamed Makers (Ages 5-8)
August 4-8
Finger Painting, Mosaics, and Playful Art: This is the ultimate hands-on, get-messy camp experience! Campers will dive into sensory-rich art projects like squishy finger painting, dynamic mosaic-making, and oversized splatter paintings. There are no limits—just big, joyful messes that turn into incredible works of art! The week will wrap up with a vibrant art show featuring their textured, colorful creations, followed by an awesome show to celebrate their imaginative mess-making.✨ Magical Makers (Ages 5-8)
August 11-15
Step into a world of wonder and whimsy! This week, campers will craft fairy houses, create enchanted landscapes, & make magical potions using natural materials. With glittering wings, tiny furniture, and glowing lanterns, they will bring their mystical visions to life. The week will conclude with a sparkling art show, families can admire the fairy-tale creations, followed by a magical tea party worthy of woodland sprites and young dreamers alike.🍃 Green Makers (Ages 8-12)
August 18-22

How to make a donation and get store credit:
Bring your items during regular business hours and leave them with us.
We will email you your store credit amount and let you know if there are any items that we can't accept. You will have 2 business days to let us know if you want to pick up remaining items or have us donate them.
Your store credit goes into your customer account and you can use it anytime on merchandise or classes! If you don't want your store credit or are donating on behalf of someone else, your store credit amount gets added to our scholarship fund to help make our kids art classes and open crafting times accessible for all!
Donation Guidelines
All donated items must be free of smells and signs of moths or other pests.
